This morning marks one of four Torontohenge solar events in 2021 — the two-week “urban solstice” when the sunrise or sunset aligns perfectly with the city’s east-west streets. At such times, the atmosphere turns to liquid gold. Below are some photos I took early this morning:

A friend gave this collage its title, and it stuck.

The collage below was inspired by Czech poet and artist Jiří Kolář (his last name is pronounced like “collage,” his preferred artistic medium). It alternates paper strips from Bosch’s “Garden of Earthly Delights” and Mantegna’s “Martyrdom of St. Sebastian.”

This collage was on the cover of Rampike magazine a few years back.

Dear friends, I’ve come to the end of my series of photographs that I’ve taken over the years and that have meant something to me. Thank you for letting me share them with you. Your presence and appreciation during the series has been a gift to me.
